Applying for life insurance
The applicant for life insurance was finding it difficult to fill out the application. The salesman asked what the trouble was, and the man said that he couldn't answer the question about the cause of death of his father.
The salesman wanted to know why. After some embarrassment, the client explained that his father had been hanged.
The salesman pondered for a moment. "Just write: 'Father was taking part in a public function when the platform gave way,'" the salesman said.
That was funny, but applying for life insurance is no joke.
What a difference a day can make.
Sometimes when speaking to my clients in
offering them a customized “corporate style” benefits package, with the life
insurance they state “they want to think about it”. The great thing about this
is that with applying for life insurance, they can be protected while they are “thinking
about it”. If they qualify, they’ll have a “free look” period to decide whether
it’s right for them or not. Usually it is “right” because for one reason, I’ve
never had a beneficiary say they didn’t appreciate the money. But another
reason why “today” is the day to get life protection is that literally tomorrow
you may not qualify.
When someone is diagnosed with a type of
condition, they may no longer qualify for life insurance or at the lesser
priced version. In the weeks that follow please be looking for 10 Reasons why
you may be Turned Down for Insurance Coverage; you may find it very interesting
and revealing.
